Diary of an average angler

Who favours traditional methods & baits

fisherman

This diary dates back to a holiday in 2003 when I think the urge to get back into fishing took off. From around 2007 the trips became more frequent with 2010/11 probably being the peak of activity.
Things again pick up in 2020 - a sort of rebirth!

Market Drayton (7)

A classic tench morning (08.00 to 09.15) and my last day at the lake.

Overnight rain had chilled the air and mist hung over the water. A 3lb tench was soon hooked and landed.

After a patient wait the second was taken just before leaving, the best of the week at 3lb 10oz. My arm ached by the time I had netted it. It just kept surging, time and time again.

A good end to my holiday fishing.
